spinoff to girls night out post

I had an arrangement with a friend for a "girls day out" and, of course, she canceled as usual!!! Chat Icon

I wouldn't be mad if this never happened because I understand that things come up, but EVERY SINGLE TIME WE MAKE PLANS, she cancels!

She wants to reschedule for some other time this week, but I don't feel like getting canceled on AGAIN which I know would happen. Chat Icon People canceling plans is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves! Especially when it's an ongoing occurrence. Ugh.

Sorry ladies, vent over.

That's annoying. Yeah I would just say forget it. If she really wants to spend time with you, she will have to convince you and not cancel last minute. Good luck! Chat Icon

Re: spinoff to girls night out post

ugh, people are so annoying! I'm sorry.

I have a friend who does that. She cancels on DH and I for dinner all the time. I know its b/c something better came up. Chat Icon She has the lamest excuses too and runs w/ her stories on her fb status.

Its annoying b/c we could have made plans with someone else. He hardly ever has off on weekend nights so we have a list of people to gtg with that we havent seen in so long b/c hes always working.

I just stopped wasting my energy on her.

I know people who do that too and I say to them ok I will make plans but DO NOT cancel on me! LOL! I say it jokingly but also they know I am serious at the same time.

Re: spinoff to girls night out post

Thanks ladies Chat Icon I decided to tell her that in the future, I would like to make plans with her the day she wants to get together. If we're both free, then great we can get together. Otherwise I can't plan these things a week in advance and get called the night before to have her cancel. It's SO inconsiderate!

One time she called up and ADMITTED that she has been so busy lately and would rather go out to a bar with her other friends (I don't do bars) .. than see me! I honestly don't know why I am still friends with her Chat Icon I really don't. She's a bad friend, but at least I know it.

Re: spinoff to girls night out post

yeah, that suckss. She's definitely not a good friend, and certainly does not even seem to be worth the time & frustration. People canceling is also one of MY pet peeves as well. it's the worst.

I had a friend a couple years ago like that. I remember her making this huge deal about her birthday one year - - weeks of planning. So I cleared my schedule for her and that night spent over an hour getting pretty (since we were going out). And then as soon as i'm all dressed up and ready to go, I get a phone call from one of our OTHER friends telling me that the birthday girl is canceling due to her MOOD. She was cranky because she got into another fight with her boyfriend (so what else is new) and just didn't feel like going out anymore. Was she kidding me????? And to not even call me herself, but to have our other friend do all the dirty work & tell everybody. I was pisssed and i let her know it. I still care about her, but I don't consider her 'friend' anymore. She's always like that and I just can't have a relationship with somebody that selfish and rude and inconsiderate. Chat Icon

Thanks again ladies!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

As of right now I haven't made plans to reschedule our plans. Frankly, I have no desire to.

I know that somehow she will get angry at ME for not rescheduling and turn this into MY fault somehow- because that is what she has done in the past, but I know the routine already Chat Icon and it's seriously getting old.

Ugh that is so frustrating. I hate people like that. She probably doesnt realize that you have to rearrange your schedule to fit her in as well.
