Spinoff to Girls with trucks....another carseat question.
I have a Ford Escape, which isn't a huge truck. Right now the seat is still rear-racing as it will be until she hits a year old, and it is in the middle.
However since there are bucket seats in the front, when she is forward facing it'll be all open in front of her if she's still in the middle. I'm afraid that if anything ever hit the windshield that glass would go right at her.
So is it still safer to keep them in the middle when they are forward facing or should I move her over to the side at that point?

The tradeoff is a side impact, which seems more likely to me, although I don't know the statistics. I'm sticking with the middle position until there is more than one car seat to fit in the car.

Absolutely, if you have side impact airbags, that's another concern plus you are more likely (they say) for the side impact crash.. Im sticking with the middle but I did think the same thing until someone at Babiesrus told me why the middle seems to be "better"

This is exactly how I feel about it. I will be keeping him in the middle.
