Spinoff to holiday collection post...
I am one of the class moms. Does anyone have a copy of a letter used to go out to parents to collect money for the teacher's gift? Also, how would I get the money from the parents??? Would they send it in to the teacher and then she would send it home to me?? I am clueless  
I am going to make it completely voluntary and ask for parents to contribute up to $5..

My classmom's send a note home in their folders. They usually ask for $5 to $10 and ask that you send it back with their name in an envelope.

this is what i would do.
we took care of it at the beginning of the year and sent out a note in folders prior to back to school night where we collected.

Ours came in the form of a letter stapled to his NB.
It says we can meet her in the driveway on the day her daughter goes to school or we can mail her a check or drop it by her house.
ETA: Again, she isn't the class mother though..
