Spinoff to Holiday Gift Giving...who do you exchange gifts with?
For me it's
DH
Emily
Mom
Dad
Sister Irene
Sister Randi, her DH and their daughter
Brother Cliff, his DW and daughter
FIL
BIL
BIL's step-daughter
and this year it'll be BIL's GF also
Dh's cousin, wife and thier 3 kids...
I get all of my coworkers a paif or christmas socks (it's my thing) and cards, just something little and cute -- we just exchange little things if at all with eachother
Plus the babysitter and some close friends...
I have to say though that Christmas KILLS me.
My DH's family doesn't just get 1-2 gifts for eachother, it's like 15 things for eachother --- so we go crazy on them and it's just getting harder and harder to do as the family grows. I want to put at $ limit on it this year if they'll go for it.

Small things for assorted aunts and uncles if we know we will see them
Donate a few toys to the FD or church
It isn't too bad, but I choose not to join any extra secret santas or start new gift giving with friends. I have enough to do.

Man, we've cut down since we don't do Christmas Eve with DH's extended family anymore, but here goes:

We don't exchange with DH's mother and her girlfriend really. Last year we sent her a really nice bag and she sent us used books on tape, so DH said she is cut off

The siblings do not give to each other - there are too many of us plus our spouses. so we all give to mom and the nieces and nephews. Mom gives to all of us.

Usually only immediate family and one thing we've been doing in my extended family for years:
On Thanksgiving, we put all of our names in a hat and you only have to buy 1 gift with a $50 limit.
For 18 and under we usually buy individual items.

this is what we started last year amongst people outside of your current house with a limit of 100. i live with my parents and younger sister, so i can't pick them out of a hat, but i can pick my other brothers and sisters and their significant others who live outside of the house. it helped a lot last year. that cuts out 10 people off my list.. still have 5 under 18 though.
