Spinoff to how long did you think it would take - How long is a long time IYO?

I fully expected TTC to take a while - but I guess I thought 'a while' would be 3-4 months, 6 months tops.

Just wondering how long you think is 'a long time' without anything happening?

being that i got PG right away... for me personally, i think 6 months is a long time.. for me though!! not saying in general.

i guess in general i would say a year is a long time .

I think I would consider 6 months a while...I had thought it would take 3 or 4 months.

I think taking up to a year is normal (from what I've read), if you haven't had any other reason to think you might have a problem.

The rule of thumb is to try for 1 year if you are under 35 and 6 months if you are 35 or over before seeking fertility testing. I was 32 when we started and I only waited 6 months with every trick in the book before I started seeing a RE. Long story short, after 15 months of TTC, I just went through IVF.
