Spinoff to landscaper pricing......Fuel charge?

Am I the only one paying a fuel charge each week? We pay $25 per week for apox. 100x100 property but, we are also charged a $7 fuel charge per week. Is this normal? Also, our company never asks if we want seed or fertizer, they just do it.....Is this the norm?

I understand the fuel charge - all the machinery runs on gas so that is to cover costs. I know my DH had to raise prices to cover his gas.

I *think* he just does fertilizer w/o asking - its just part of the spring cleanup and start of season. At least for him it is - I can't speak for other companies.

My dh is a landscaper and added a fuel surcharge this month as well as many of his friends that are landscapers. I want to say my dh's fuel surcharge is 3-5 dollars depending on size and location.

However, you should tell them whether or not you want seed or fert. Are they billing you separate for this? or is it included? We send out contracts in Feb, and the customers sign up for each service such as trimming, fert applications, thatch/ aeration, seeding, clean-ups etc. Of course each extra service is an additional charge.
