SPINOFF to: looking for a new job
what would you advice if someone is much smarter/well equipt to handle a "good" job than her resume would lead you to believe?
lie? be creative in re-writing a resume? if so, how?
i need to get out of this dead-end job, but "on paper" i'm not "all that"
help

well, you have to update your resume and make it eye catching - that's the first thing that will get you in the door.
second thing is, when you get the interview, you have to be sure to outshine the competition!

Maybe add in a part regarding a special project or initiaive that you were involved in or led. That always looks good on a resume or in the cover letter even.

I would never lie on a resume or in an interview - I think it always catches up with you in some way.
I think you need to have someone with a critical eye look at your resume and give you feedback. Sometimes it isn't viewed the way we think it is. I also think having a great cover letter can help too.

I agree.
I had a professional do my resume when I was looking for a job (when I got this one). It was amazing the different response I had to the new resume. That is something you may want to consider.

I just redid my resumse, Randella did it - she has a biz. It was great, i feel so much more confident now with the way it looks.
