Spinoff to Lying-Just a cute little story about me trying to get Jules to take accountability for her actions
About a week or so ago, right before she turned two, Juliette knocked over a paper cup of soda that was on a snack table. I walked in to my livingroom-thank God for hardwood floors -and there is soda all over.
Juliette is standing three feet away and goes, "Soda fell!" So I asked her questioningly, "It fell? How did it fall?"
She replies, "I dunno mommy?". So I ask, "Where was the soda?"
Juliette: "On the table."
Me: "Well what happened?"
Juliette: "Max (our 5 pound chihuahua)."
Me: "Max knocked over the soda?"
Juliette: (Thinking hard, looks up at me) "Yesth..."
Me: "Juliette, are you telling the truth, or are you lying?" (This is my test so I can start the whole truth and lie and you will not get in trouble speech.)
Juliette: (Calmly, and serious as anything) "No mommy! I not a lion, I a CAT!!! Meow Meow!" (She ran around in circles meowing.) Honestly, how can you get mad at that after seeing just innocence?
This was the second time something had happened in the last few weeks that she blamed on the poor dogs. Ummmm... Max was with me and ran out to see what happened when the soda fell. Atleast if she said Momo it owuld have been somewhat believable!
When I was repeating this story to my mother in law a few days later, Juliette butts in and says, "Julz dropped soda! (Patting herself on the chest)" and told her the truth. I just added, right Jules!!! Thank you for telling us the truth!
Does the kid have a clue? Maybe... But seeing her running around in circles was too cute to try and discipine. After all, she wasn't even two yet! Blame it on my lack of ennunciation-what's left of my Brooklyn accent. Lion-Lying?
I love this kid!

OMG, that's too cute!! We have a little chihuahua too, that follows Alex every move she takes - I'm guessing he'll be the culprit for many "accidents" in our house as well
