Do you mean the kind where you take the baby during the day and they dim the lights and turn the sound down lower? The Island 16 in Holtsville has one. It's Tuesdays at 10:00. Mr. Brooks is showing next. I'm waiting for something good to be playing, because I want to go see a movie!

Re: Spinoff to Movies in Theater....

I just checked the Island 16 site again and Knocked Up is playing this Tuesday. I guess they decided Mr. Brooks wasn't the best choice (being that it's rated R and I think a horror film).

Thanks for the info, I'd love to get out and go!

Being the extremely paranoid first-time mother - do you think the movies are too loud for an infant? Chat Icon

I have actually found that lately they haven't been turning down the volume so much at Island 16 - I actually wish that it was down a little bit more. I mean, I don't think that it is so loud that it will hurt their ears or anything, but DD definitely doesn't go to sleep too easily.

The one by us in CA was awesome- not too loud, lights up a little so you can see the baby and a changing table right there in the room. They also used the "director's theatre"- big comfy leather chairs that usually cost 15 a ticket. I highly recommend it.
