spinoff to my own post: Queens/Nassau border gtg UPDATED

Ok so I'm leaning more towards a weekday bc unfortunately my weekends are jammed packed for the rest of July....I have every family and friend function known to man to go to.... I also think since no one really replied to what I said I saw on the news about Forest park....I think I would feel more comfortable going to Juniper Park...it was the second runner up in the poll so I'm sure ppl will still want to join in =)

so how do these dates sound for a GTG at Juniper Park?

Mon 6/13- Fri 6/17

or the next week

Mon 6/20- Fri 6-24

at 430 so that Hollie can make it (and possibly some other working moms)

for my two cents - a park would be better - Emma wouldn't 'get' a whole lot out of a museum just yet :)

i'd likely bring my SIL and her daughter along too - as they live in Forrest Hills...

I'm not familiar with the area but I'm up for any park. Something close to the highway is cool too since i'm coming down from CT!

ok im so with you girls! i would rather a park too bc my dd is 10mos old and although she would love to look at everything at a museum she wouldnt really grasp everything she was seeing

lets see what the others think

blissful....all three of those parks listed are very close to the l.i.e and the grand central so they would actually be really good for u coming from ct

I'm in Brooklyn so a Queens GTG would be great for me too!

Forest Park has a carousel so I chose that one. They have picnic tables right there too... I took DD on it last year when she was only 6 months old.

I live in Nassau but am in Queens a lot. I would love to come and have never been to a gtg on here :) Any of the places are fine with me:) I don't think DS would like the museum and I don't think I would like chasing after him LOL

I'm in Nassau, but Forest Park is right around my grandmother, and would LOOOOOVE to bring Chels to that park, since I literally spent my entire childhood in that park...so I vote Forest Park


ETA: the park is huuuuge so we would def need to meet somewhere ultra specific!!!

Jen, I spent my teenage yrs in that park of course around the dome for keg parties lol bc i grew up very close by.... now i agree the park is very big so maybe we should meet up at the carousel?

I live two miles from the Queens/Nassau Border. Any of the locations are fine with me. There are Crocheron and Cunningham Parks as well.

what day would be best for all? I'm good any day other than Tuesday or Friday....(though i do have a test pending - called to make the appointment today - but they were closed already)..

I voted for Fresh Meadows because that's where I live But I'm really okay with anyone of them.

FYI - Queens County Farm Museum is not like a boring museum, it's a farm. They have animals, a hay ride, and picnic grounds. Once a year, they have a fair too, and a pow wow at the end of July. Pumpkin picking and a costume festival for Halloween. And a corn maze lol.

I'm a SAHM, so I'm pretty much free whenever, thought I'd prefer not to go on Wed. or Thurs. because those are DH's days off.

I work FT, so I can't do weekdays unless it's after 4 PM (which is probably too late).

ok one thing i want to add and only bc its in the back of my head

i saw on the news maybe last month that there was a rape in forest park and an attempted rape days after (but the guy was scared away that time)

now forest park is huge and this act did take place on the whole other side of the park away from the carousel but it is in the back of my head

id probably feel a little better going to juniper park but if everyone is still for forest park im fine with it

feelings?

now as for dates/times.....im a sahm so im trying to go by what ppl have said for their availabilty and it sounds like mondays in the late afternoon would be good for most?

my ds had PT mondays from 430-5pm but i can go after if that's not too late..

i like juniper, but will do whatever.
