Spinoff to my x-mas post

For those that said keep DD's b-day separate from Christmas, what kind of tradition can I start THIS year, and continue forward. We already have a Christmas tradition that DH started when we started dating.

Someone mentioned the Nutcracker, but she's too little to sit through it now.

I want to do something that I can continue year after year.

how about going into the city to see the tree, then going to FAO Schwartz, and finishing the day off at Serendipidity with one of their yummy frozen hot chocolate drinks!! Chat Icon

I like this idea. DSs birthday is right around the same time as DDs, and it's also near his Dad's birthday and Thanksgiving, so I want something very separate for him.

I'm also thinking of having a small, kids only party for him this year which will be separate from the family gathering (that will probably be lumped together with Thanksgiving).
That I'll probably have the first weekend of December.

Do you mean a birthday tradition or a Christmas tradition?

This year aside from DD's b-day party, on her actual b-day I am planning on taking her to the American Girl Place for lunch and buy her the Bitty Baby and Accesories and then maybe the Natural History Museum. When she gets older I might take her to see a non-Christmas related show on her birthday - like The little Mermaid or the Lion King, and have lunch and make a day of it.
