spinoff to parenting post - what does your ans machine say?
Ours is cheese... b/c I'm cheese.
In a terrible cheery voice I recorded:
"Hi, you've reached Jenn and Alfonse, we can't get to the phone right now so leave us a really cool message and we'll call you back!"

Mine is a total blooper but it was too good NOT to keep.
"Hi this is Kim and Aaron.. <<insert Cooper barking in the background>>... <<insert DH laughing in the backgroud>>... <<I promptly hang up>>"
It screws so many people up it's ridiculous. People will say "Hi, can I please speak to Kim..........................................Hello?" We should change it so people aren't totally confused when they call, but I just don't have the heart.

we actually have a child on ours...but no children live with us 
for some reason, our 11-year-old niece is on our ans machine..but's she's uber to the point "hi, you've reached the *blankity blank residence" no one is avail to take your call. please leave a message at the tone"
and then she says it in Spanish b/c are a bilingual household.
dh and I use our cell phones for most calls..this is mainly for my MIL.
anyway, people mistake me for my niece all the time when I pick up the phone....
I sound so sweet and innocent, I guess.

We don't say out name or #---Dh is super-top secret like that!
He also insists that he leave the message, so stalkers won't think there is a woman living alone.
So, it's DH:
"Hi, we can't come to the phone right no, please leave a message & we will get back to you as soon as we can. Thank. Bye."
