Spinoff to Santa gifts question—which are from Santa, which are from you?

Last year we didn’t really play up the Santa thing b/c DD was still too young to fully understand, and I can’t remember what we did honestly.

How do you do it? Are all of the presents at your house from Santa? Or only a few?

We plan on having a “big” gift unwrapped/set-up in front of the tree from Santa for each child…but then what? Are the rest of the presents from Santa or us? Obviously Santa will fill the stockings too.

Growing up, all our presents were from Santa....I joke about it now thay my parents never gave us anything. But I think we will continue the same thing with DD and all her presents will be from Santa.

one present from santa, the "big one"

we want to show DD how to gift, that it's important for her to know that one gift comes from mommy and daddy, one from little sis, etc. so we teach by example that it's important to give and receive from everyone...this is how my mom did it and since i like the idea we decided to do continue it in our house...

our "big" gift of the year was from santa...it was never wrapped.
everything else was from our parents.
I will be doing this for DD....all her toy story toys will be unwrapped and she will walk down the stairs into the living room and see what santa left her

Growing up, most of our presents were from Santa. My parents gave us each a few gifts from "them." I'm going to do the same for the boys (but I can't tell DH ahead of time----he'll think it's crazy).

One gift is from us. Usually its a piece of apparel. Last year we got him sketchers hot lights shoes and he loved them. This year I am still looking around. I will probably buy him a watch, or something similar.

Growing up everything was from Santa. I will follow the same tradition for my DD. One day when she realizes Santa doesn't exist she will realize the gifts were all from us. In the meantime I don't mind if "Santa" gets all the props.

Growing up I remember all our gifts on Christmas morning were from Santa and don't remember getting gifts from mom and dad. So I planned on doing similar. Last year, my 4.5 yr old questioned why everyone gives him gifts and he gives us gifts but we don't give him any for Christmas. So we went to Great Wolf Lodge around that time so we told him that was his present from us. We also told him we give Santa some money to make some of the presents. This year we are going to go to Disney before Christmas so I may say that is the gift from from mom and dad.

I think it was about 50/50 between my parents and santa... my mom used to wrap all of santas gifts in tin foil HAHA. He did all the stockings, and the big gifts were from him as well. I also was the youngest out of 5, so I got the cheap end of the stick...they were too old to bother with it as much anymore LOL. I remember we always had to take turns...one present at a time..pose for the camera...boo! lol But Santa also had those little tiny stockings that you hang on the tree...and he would stuff money in them and hide them all in the tree...

For us, since DS is still only 10 months for Christmas, we plan on just starting the tradations right away anyways... Santa will wrap all his gifts in special paper...I will keep them hidden until the morning of. I will make one big gift from Santa, and one big gift from us. I don't want him to ask if santa loves him more then us..>I had my neices ask my sister that one year LOL.

The majority of the gifts are from Santa, but usually the biggest/most special one is from Mommy and Daddy.
