Spinoff to Shower/Sprinkle with Baby #2 - If DH has a child from previous marriage?
AND they had a baby shower - this child is 6 y/o...
This is my first - the first grandchild on MY side of the family - plus DH has NOTHING of what was given at the first shower since SD6 lives with her mom F/T.. KWIM?
Is it improper to have a baby shower?
When we had gotten married we skipped out of the 'engagement party' only because his family had BTDT with DH and his ex - we still had a bridal shower... DH's family all came and we had a great time..
I just don't want to go against what is proper in this situation.. WWYD?

In your case, you should get a shower. This is your first child. Not improper at all!

I would have a baby shower, it's ur first child and even though his family knows he has another child it's not like you have baby things hanging around.
If anyone from his side would feel uncomfortable or do not agree with having one then I would guess they would decline. I vote to have a baby shower,

I dont think having one or two showers for more than your first baby is improper. To each their own. It's a personal decision!!

absolutely proper to have a shower. This is the first baby in your family with DH.
It's not like you would have access to the SD's old baby things and they are things that the ex-wife picked out, not you!

IMO this is when it is most appropraite to have another shower. Not that I'm against anyone having a 2nd shower. I just wouldn't unless I was in this situation or vice versa or if I had chldren far apart in age.
