spinoff to texting while driving
how do you guys feel about someone texting while at a red light, or stopped in traffic?

even though the person may be stopped it's only for a brief period of time. The person is still not focusing on what's going on around them if they are looking down and texting.

I still think it could present a dangerous situation. The person texting is not paying attention to what's going around them.

I think it can wait...
You know when that light turns if they arent finished texting...you are going to be the car waiting for them to go bc they are involved with this nonsense.
If people actually were told they need to pull over and do this, then they wouldnt be texting at all.

I did this once and it was distracting.
If you HAVE to text, pull over, park, text, refocus, and drive.
IMO it is dangerous to text while driving or at a light.

To me it's the same as changing a cd or the radio station
I send quick texts at lights- example...start dinner be home in 20...
If I need to send something longer or an email- I'll pull over
I have been driving for 16 years- I have no problem refocusing when the light changes

I do text vat red lights on occasion - but if the light changes and I ma not done, I wait until the next light to finish.

this is what I'll do... If I start a text and the light changes, I'll finish it at another one.

I have seen people do it and usually it takes longer to text than to wait for the green light, so everybody is beeping their horn for the "texter" to pay attention and move at the green light.

red light i see nothing wrong with making a call or texting - you are stopped and just sitting there......
i dont think anyone should be on a cell or texting while driving - even in slow traffic
