Spinoff to the Captains post

Instead of bashing, what things does your DH do that you appreciate? Chat Icon

I work later than DH. Every single night of the week he cooks dinner for me. Most nights he even washes the dishes and doesn't ask for any help. He helps me clean and we do most "chores" together. He is amazing! Chat Icon Chat Icon

He always drives. If we're going somewhere together, its ALWAYS in his car, and he ALWAYS drives.

I like being spoiled like that Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to the Captains post

-My DH cooks me dinner every night as well
-He does all the grocery shopping
-He helps with the chores inside the house and does all of the outside work himself
Hes very generous when it comes to helping me out around the house and I really appreciate it

I love that he loves to cook, we clean and shop together and he always has a huge hug and kiss for me when we see each other after work. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

DH has always been really good at putting my needs first. I can depend on him for anything and everything. Now that I am pregnant..he cooks for me, cleans up - jumps up in front of me to do something if he sees that I am going to do it. He's just been so amazing throughout all of this - but no surprise because he has been so great all along. Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to the Captains post

Whatever I want to do - he will go aloing with it. I work from home alone so sometimes I want to get out. When he gets home he is pooped, but he will never say that. He will always take me out if that's what I want.

He does all the heay lifting and handyman stuff - without being asked.

He drives everywhere too - but I never thought about it as special. Maybe it is.

He has no problem when I go out with my friends.

He's neat, always cleans up when I cook, takes care of puppy when he gets home, never ever complains about my spending...never nags or complains...unless of course he is sick.

ETA - oh and he takes care of me every time Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to the Captains post

I can't really get into the man bashing threads, because I really do think we have an equal partnership. I know I am lucky, but I think it is also a result of him living alone for many years before meeting me.

He probably does as much around the house as I do, most of it without me asking him and he does almost all of the grocery shopping. He will do anything I ask him to and always puts me first.

DH has been so great since we became a family of three... I am so appreciative...even though I'm sure I don't tell him or show him enough. He has really stepped up to the task of being a Daddy, a family man, and husband. I'm impressed and proud of him. It has made me love him in a whole new way...

- Two weeknights he handles all the baby stuff after work ...bathes him, feeds him dinner, reads to him, and gets him ready for bed

- the other two weeknights he cooks dinner and he is a great cook

- on the weekends he helps me clean the house

That's not even the half of it...there's so much more... some things I can't even put into words...I'm a very lucky woman. Chat Icon
