Spinoff to those who commute - anyone let you cut them in line?
Yesterday I was at the post office and there was this really long line. I noticed everyone peeking at my belly, but no one offered to let me cut.
Just wondered with all the holiday lines - if anyone has been given a free pass to cut a line?

I went to use the bathroom at the movie theater a few nights ago, and a bunch of younger girls told me to go ahead of them.
Also was allowed to cut the line at things remembered, because I looked tired and had a ton of bags
Im in NC...so it might be diff here

I let someone cut me at the post office. She was pregnant and in what seemed like in a hurry. When I offered she looked at me like I was insane. I had to convince her that is was okay.

No. But I have noticed more and more "Expectant Mother Parking," although I haven't used it yet.

I've been offered to cut in line for the bathroom a couple of times which was nice but other than that, I'm confused as to why anyone would offer someone to cut them in line just b/c we're pregnant I'd never expect that - I should wait my turn just like anyone else.

I would certainly give up a seat or my place in line at the public bathroom.

I agree when its a normal length line 2- 3 people. But when its really long, it just seems like the neighborly thing to do.
I avoid the whole issue with holiday shopping by going to stores during the week at odd hours and doing most of my shopping on line. The post office was the first long line I had to wait in. It went fast though so it wasn't a big deal.

I'm 4 months but you still can't tell so I haven't been offered anything.
But, my neighbor had to stop riding the subway to work and started driving because nobody would offer her a seat when she was huge and preggo. She said it would get so crowded and people would elbow her belly! Can you believe that!!

I'm sorry to hear about this. After commuting to NYC from Long Island for 10 years and taking the LIRR and subway everyday, it doesn't amaze me how rude people are (especially men) who never offered their seats to pregnant woman or elderly/handicapped people. I always did.

I was holiday shopping all last weekend. No one offered for me to cut, but i would not expect that, nor would i have accepted.
but, i must say in macys it was crazy and every one was pushing and shoving, I would expect less of that with a pregnant woman!

In the past I have offered my place in line at the ladies room to pregnant women, especially if the line was long.
