Re: spinoff to tub reglazing. The tiles.
this is an email from one company i contacted...JMB Reglazing "We service the Tri-State area including the 5 Boros. The cost of a standard size, cast iron tub reglaze is 350.00 in white or bone. There is a 65.00 stripping fee ONLY if the tub has been hand painted or reglazed previously. The wall tile reglaze runs 12.00 per square foot. The sink prices vary depending on what kind of sink you have. The restoration includes all related resin and chip repair, rust removal, new grout and all brand new caulk upon completion. The job takes about 3 to 8 hours depending on the condition of the Tub & Tiles and can be used 24 hours after completion. We offer a 5 year guarantee and the life expectancy of our material has been running 12 to 15 years or better. We are fully licensed and workers comp insured and we often exceed the liability requirements by most Building Management Boards. Lastly, we are authorized service technicians for American Standard and Kohler thus we have the ability to get any custom colors you desire for a small additional fee. (40 Dollars per pint ) We currently specialize in reglazing and do not do New Tile installations."

Re: spinoff to tub reglazing. The tiles.
We actually used JMB reglazing in our co-op for the bathroom. They were the nicest group of people to work with and I believe it was $10 a square foot in 2006 but I see above it has increased a little.
The tiles are very fragile though (for lack of a better word)...after a week we had the painter come in to repair the walls above the tiles. The tape that he used (the blue one) to avoid getting paint on the tiles - actually took off some of the finish. BUT JMB came back right away to fix it up. If you go this route - definitely give it extra time to set. But overall we loved the way it looked.

I LOVE the way your bathroom came out. My bathroom is such an ugly color yellow...but it matches the tub and shower Yours came out beautiful....I think I'm going to give them a call.
