Spinoff to washing baby clothes: How much do I need to wash for the first week?
I think I still have another week or so before this baby comes but I want to get some wash out of the way.
Anyone care to share some numbers of how much I should wash? How many onesies? How many sleepers? How many receiving blankets?
How much should I need for a week?

You will need a ton of pjs and we used tons of onesies in the beginning but I had a summer baby and now that's it so cold we keep her in PJs unless we're going out. We put a new pair of PJs on her everynight but use the same sleepsack for a few days in a row. You will need plenty of blankets for a newborm so wash them all they won't go to waste.

A lot of onesies and pjs. They tend to poop a lot in the beginning, you want to have plenty available for the accidents.

I washed all her newborn and 0-3 pjs and onesies. Although I must confess I didn't use onesies right away because I was scared to put them over her head My mom yelled at me for not having a t-shirt under her pj's, but she's 9 weeks old and just fine
eta: I also made sure I washed lots of blankets, burp clothes and sheets.

Re: Spinoff to washing baby clothes: How much do I need to wash for the first week?
The question is how much laundry do you want to do for the second week?
I did all my wash before DD arrived so that it wasn't an issue. On average I used about 3 bibs, 3 alphets,3 burp cloth, 2 blankets and one t-shirt in a day.
One tip that helped me was to use bibs at all feedings. This helped to cut down on the laundry and changing of clothes for DD.

I did laundry every day for the first 2 weeks at least. They go through a lot of clothing so wash everything you can now.

I guess I'm in the minority. I washed nothing before she came. She was fine. If you want to wash stuff, wash all your onesies and pjs.

I didn't wash that much because I didn't know what size clothing I needed.
