Spinoff to water shoes
does everyone use them for their toddler?
We are at the beach a lot, but last year DS wasn't walking until the end of August and this year (ha) I've just kept his sandals on and then taken them off when we get to the beach.
Do you use them at a pool too? What for? In the water?

Re: Spinoff to water shoes
We do not use water shoes. I've always assumed it's because I am a terrible mother. They are a good idea to protect their feet though......

Re: Spinoff to water shoes
I bought them last year and they were too much trouble for me to get on and off of her feet...she hated them anyway! I probably only used them twice, never at the beach, only on our deck near her pool. She did fine with the sand at the beach and concrete and decking around the pool. I won't use them again, even though I think they look cute!

My DS didnt like the hot sand last year so those came in handy, so I'm sure we'll be using them again...

Re: Spinoff to water shoes
I just got a pair for DD-I wanted them for the pool and for the sprinkler parks. I also plan on using them at home when she plays with her pool and water table. Oh, and at daycare, when they have water play you have to bring in another pair of shoes.
As kids, we always went barefoot so I don't think it's a big deal not to use a water shoe.

Re: Spinoff to water shoes
They wear them for the beach and public pool and if they are running around in the sprinkler in the yard since we have rocky soil under the grass. When they go in pools at people's houses, they generally don't wear them.

I'd like to see you try and get a triple wide size foot into a water shoe You should try the Lands End water shoes. My DS has a really really wide feet - he can't get in most water shoes - but they fit great.

Same here, pretty much on all accounts (shocking, isn't it?? ) We'll use them at Sesame Place too, and she wears them sometimes when playing with the water table.
I don't mind her barefoot in our yard, but other places I prefer her having a shoe on. And there's NO WAY she would have walked barefoot on all the rocks when we GTG with you guys at the beach the other week.
We have the Lands End ones and LOVE them, for the record
