Spinoff: Two week trip with lots of walking and sight seeing what do YOU pack?
So we are going to Italy next week.
Lots of walking, sightseeing...two weeks.
What do YOU pack? Want to travel light but obvioulsy need a lot of clothes for 14 days.
Also toilteries etc.
Just curious to see if I am crazy or on target

comfy walking shoes/sandals - probably two pairs jeans - two pairs capri pants - one or two pairs probably about 10 tshirts/blouses a dress or skirt that won't easily wrinkle a sweater/cardigan or two underwear/socks/bras/etc
In theory, that's what I'd aim for...

The basics for just walking around:
my most comfy shoes + a nicer pair (for dinners etc.) + one pair of sandals or flip flops (for hanging out or days with less walking)
2 pairs of jeans + 2 pairs casual neutral-colored pants + 2 casual skirts
1 or 2 dresses
probably 8 or 9 shirts/tops
1-2 cardigans or sweaters
swimsuit?
You might need to add/subtract depending on whether you'll be doing more active excursions like hiking or ziplining or something.

Re: Spinoff: Two week trip with lots of walking and sight seeing what do YOU pack?
Sorry, I am just laughing at what everything else thinks is an appropriate amount compared to what I think is an appropriate amount
I know it is far more "prudent" than I am but I could NEVER make it 14 days with only 3 pairs of shoes!!
But truthfully it is really hot at this time of year in Italy so I personally would bring lots of sundresses and cute skirts to wear during the day and then shoes to go with them (because I like to be fashionable vs comfortable )
I would bring several pair of white pants and probably lots of solids that are versatile. I would bring a ton of accesories so I could dress up otherwise plain outfits.
I ALWAYS overpack but I rather be prepared

I actually bought a bunch of sundresses from Forever 21 bc I figure I can dress them up or down and they are light...I am trying to avoid overheating
I am more concerned about shoes...I do not want to be the typical tourist with my Nikes but really what else can you walk around in for hours at a time???

i went to italy last august and wore the same sneakers every day and 1-2 pairs of nicers shoes to wear at night, plus a pair of flip flops/sandals. i wore shorts or capris during the day and mostly skirts and dresses at night. if you don't mind wearing something more than once bring up to 10 tops, 3 or 4 skirts/dresses and shorts and capris. i never wore jeans, it was just too hot!
