spinoff...have you or anyone you know ever been..
wrongly purged off voting roll?
In NY, Leo and I go to vote...I am on list, he isn't...even though he is standing there with voter's registration card....it was OUTRAGEOUS!
We move to NC, follow all the same steps...go to vote for primaries, I notice his name isn't on list either...
taking care of it now...but I have to wonder, how many this happens to?
22,000 African Americans were wrongly purged in 2004 from FL.

Yes, in 2004 I was not there but DH and MIL were. But I think it was b/c we bought our house from ILs so they were removing 2 people and adding 2 different people all with the same last name and the same address and it all got confused. From what I can figure, they added me & DH, then when they went to remove ILs they removed me & FIL by mistake.
When I demanded a paper ballot b/c I had my voter reg card and my license to prove my address it was a whole thing. They kept refusing and made me wait until some sort of manager came to the school. Then they had to call the county office, it took forever.

Yeah - FL and OH scare the heck out of me - definitely finding and bringing my voter reg card when I go vote - I was on the rolls for the primary elections and local elections in Sept, but I don't trust it...

DH. In 2004, he went to vote at I.S. 11 on Staten Island and they didn't have him, they had his deceased father tho Then we had to drive to Miller Place so I could vote AND it was my birthday.....

DH is registered twice. We get two reminder cards for him, and he's listed 2x in the book when we go to vote and sign in. Not only that, he is still registed to vote in Suffolk at his parents address, as they still get cards for him to vote. I tell DH to exercise his right and vote 3 times!

no but I was reading on another political message board that I frequent that this is a major concern for this year.. they are recommending that everyone recheck the records to make sure that this didn't happen

its really crazy that things like this can still be happening....
still haven't gotten Leo's new voter reg card in the mail for NC...volunteers at the library have been helping me out. At this point its just on principal alone....not even that having the card means anything. They don't notify you at all if you are taken off the roll.
