splitting land
Does anyone know what the laws and fees would be to split a parcel of land?
me and a friend are looking to buy a piece of land. it currently has 2 single wide trailers (it is upstate ny and would be used for summer/weekends). We are looking to split the price of the property but then want to legally split it for tax reasons.
TIA

Re: splitting land
you'd have to contact the zoning dept & tax assesors office in that area to see if subdivision is allowed. It depends on the zoning in that particular area.

Re: splitting land
our property WAY upstate, all we had to do was draw it on a map, have it surveyed and that was that. Things are SO different up there. Call the Town.

Re: splitting land
My husband and his uncle split a land lot here. there was nothing to be done, just added both names to the dead and loan papers.
