With so many sports and activities to choose from, what did you choose to let your children to participate in when they were younger? Any advice what to do or not do? Thanks!

Re: Sports
I let them try a bunch of stuff when they were young and whatever they liked they stuck with. A lot of places have multi sport classes and then sign up for PAL and town leagues. Those usually don’t have crazy time commitments.

Re: Sports
I put both my boys in sports when they were young. My one son didnt like soccer, and played tee-ball, and now plays baseball and hockey.
My other son who is on the Autism Spectrum(who is very athletic) is playing lacrosse, and is on his high school track team.
Let them play what interests them.

My youngest is in dance and gymnastics. Was looking into Karate but too expensive. Keep in mind all sports are expensive. I would just see what they are interested in trying and then see if you can afford it if they end up sticking with it.

My daughter (10) is in dance and she just started to get into Cheer. But she’s the type of kid that wants to do everything under the sun. She’d be involved in 100 things if time permits and money was no object. Lol.

We started with soccer, basketball and little league. Oh yeah and karate. We added other sports for DS1 when he asked and when things conflicted we let him choose. He has tried a wide variety of things as he needs to keep busy and his main two sports are basketball and baseball - and whatever fits in between the two.
My younger son isnt as in to sports, he plays baseball and basketball as well, but not as competitively. He enjoys STEM so I sign him up for classes that sound interesting to him. Also - I signed him up for an intro to music class and after which he took 3 years of piano lessons.

Re: Sports
We exposed them to everything - soccer, bball, wrestling, baseball, lax, swim and now football - and they gravitate to what they like.
