I do not blame you one bit for wanting to change trainers! I'm surprised so many people would just brush it off! That comment is seriously bizarre on so many levels - first of all, it's completely false (what, is he 12 years old?), secondly, it's so personal, it's extremely socially awkward to even say that, thirdly, it's really unprofessional of him to say something like that to you as his client. I would be extremely creeped out too and would definitely not work with him again. I wouldn't want to sweat around him. You don't want to lift a weight and your cl*toris explode.
ITA....highly highly inappropriate and no way I would stick with him as my trainer. There are just some things that are NOT ok to talk about with someone you barely know. He totally skeeves me actually
i dont mean to attack the OP, not my intention at all but she kind of made it okay to say when she started talking about the "gore" of labor and getting personal by mentioning that she is having a c/s. It is not like he saw a pregnant woman and started informing her about her sexual organs.

I didn't think you were attacking the OP, and I get that she brought up labor and stuff, but still, his comment crossed the line in my opinion. It was gross, ignorant and inappropriate of him to say and I think the OP is right to not work with him again. Well, whatever we think, the bottom line is *she* feels uncomfortable, and just for that reason, she is right to change trainers.

I laughed out loud when I read that. I guess he was making a joke about a serious topic to lighten the mood. Maybe he's just a funny guy?
I wouldn't be so upset...but that's me.

I would let it go. He is a kid-and being that he is male, you have to take about 10 years off of his psychological age. I would explain to him that it is not appropriate to talk like that though!
Good for you on going to the gym! I miss the gym so much!

I think if it were any another guy, I would let it go, but the fact is, this is a one on one personal trainer that I am paying A LOT of money to use.
I just can't wipe the comment from my head and it's such an intimate (ok, not quite the right word, but you get my drift) setting to be in, with one on one training.
Would it be bad if I didn't mention why, but asked if I could continue my remaining sessions with a female trainer, bc i feel she would be better suited for my needs?
If you feel this way, then yes, definitely switch to a female!! You are paying for the service and it should be comfortable for you..
Regardless of how we feel, you need to focus on the training and not on what other random things will come from his mouth

Don't worry, I didn't take it as an attack.
I asked for opinions, and it's okay if they don't jive with mine.
I don't really feel like I opened anything up. The manager of the gym was the one who brought the whole labor thing up in the first place, and, yes, I do still think the comment was out of line.

Re: SPR - Personal Trainer and VERY INAPPROPRIATE & GRAPHIC comment - WARNING
I went to the session and it was fine.
I'm still not 100% comfortable with him, but I kept the talking to a minimium and only have 2 more sessions to go, so I'm going to take the weekend to see if maybe I want to change trainers for next week.
But I do appreciate everyone's input in allowing me to see a little humor in it.

I would just forget it.
Sorry but I actually LOL at that comment. It just sounds like a weird immature comment from a guy who knows apparently nothing about having a baby!
So me laughing about it would just be me chalking it up to a stupid comment...moving along.
This is exactly what I thought. I laughed and thought he was just immature.

as a personal trainer....that is completely unprofessional!!!!!!
At 25 & a male what does he know (but as a trainer she needs to get a clue with professionalism!!!!)
I would take a session and see how he is.

WHATTTTTT
He actually said that??!??!
And why were'nt we told that??
I personally would continue going to him and look up really disgusting things to tell him....
Like, if he starts to lift weights be like "Wow, be careful, a piece of your intestine can detatch and become permanately lodged in your ball making you have a indefinite erection" But you can fix it with surgury"
Or bring up protein shakes and stuff and be like "I hear if u take those you get small balls"
I dont know, I would be a brat but thats just me......
This had me laughing so hard !! To the OP, I would ask for a new trainer. Youre paying money for this service and you should feel comfortable with your trainer.
