The putting away is the problem. Not the actual doing laundry. Prior to Gilly being born we lived in a place that didnt have a washer/dryer. For us it was a true blue miracle to finally have one. In essence we are doing laundry night and day...

Re: SPR: How do you manage your laundry?

Honestly, I live in an apartment without a laundry facility, so when my MIL offered to do DS laundry once a week, I accepted. It seems to be working out well, and I get it back folded! Chat Icon

Re: SPR: How do you manage your laundry?

We make it a family event. DS helps sort so we can do colors. DH helps fold b/c he is really specific on how to fold his undershirts. The thing I am bad about is having the delicates put back into the closet after I let them drip dry. I just go to the laundry room to get them and they never make it back into the drawer.

We do it our laundry Sat - Mon (when I work from home)

The folding and putting away is the hard part. DH will throw it in and change it but neither of us are really good at folding and putting away.

I do all the kids clothes.

I alwasy say I need a personal valet to handle all our clothes.

Re: SPR: How do you manage your laundry?

I came up with a laundry schedule. Otherwise it just doesn't get done.

Here's my schedule:

Saturday: DH work clothes
Sunday: Regular load (DH and I every day clothes)
Monday: Towels
Tuesday: Ryan
Wednesday: none
Thursday: Regular
Friday: Whites

If I miss a day, I do 2 loads the next day.

Re: SPR: How do you manage your laundry?

Dh comes home first and two times a week he gets it started before he gets ds from the sitter. When I get home, I'll continue it and he helps me fold when ds is alseep.

I am seriously starting to consider bringing it to the laundrymat. For 50 cents a lb, the wash, dry, fold it. WOuld you consider that?

Chris and I have lived MANY places together, and up until this one and the one before, we never had a w/d, so I always did that.

I may do that when we are really busy, it isn't a bad idea, but can I hire them to come and put it away too?Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Putting it away really is a beyotch, right?!?!?! I thought I was the only one!!!Chat Icon That's why so may baskets around here (the IDK) pile consists of clothes that I am not sure if clean or dirtyChat Icon

folding and putting it away are the 2 worst parts Chat Icon maybe I'm just saying that because those are the only 2 parts I do Chat Icon

Re: SPR: How do you manage your laundry?

I do it often, small loads, so that theres not too much folding and putting away at once.

Re: SPR: How do you manage your laundry?

Every other Sunday I do laundry but I cannto stand folding and putting away laundry so that runs into the odd week.
