Squirrels ate all our tomatoes!! Any advice?
My son has 2 tomato plants that we have been growing in large pots on our patio. He had about 13 tomatoes so far and the first two starting turning red. The other morning he went to check on it and it was stolen...we found part of it, chewed on, in the yard. Today he went to check on the other red one and ALL the tomatoes are gone. We found a few pieces of some of the green ones on the lawn but that's it.
My poor son is devastated (he's almost 6 and was dying to grow some veggies this year)
@&%^!( squirrels!!!
Any advice on keeping them away from any other tomatoes, if we get any more?

Put out bird food that the squirrels will eat? Put a mesh fence around the tomato plants?

We had some strawberry plants that were growing so amazingly. And then the squirrels got to them I have no idea what to do.

We have pumpkins growing. The first year we moved in they grew in our front yard. Hubby dug them up moved them to the back yard. Squirrels ate the plants so no pumpkins. Last year they grew in the backyard same thing. This year we have them in the front yard again so strange but anyway someone suggested Cayenne (spelling) pepper.

I use blood meal as a fertilzer and it keeps most animals away and is a great fertilizer, but since it is actual dried bllod, I need to put marigolds in to keep flies away. But it is one of the organic ways to garden.
