We collect for the custodian on our floor. Every teacher usually puts in $5.

Staff collections- what do you collect?
As a follow up that will sound snarky-do they keep things clean? Take out trash? Help you move heavy items?

For a baby shower, bridal shower, retirement party, etc. Someone usually goes around and collects $5 from every teacher who wants to contribute. We bring around the staff list and check off who paid, and then we have them all sign a card. There's around 60-70 staff members, but that includes the nurse, secretaries, and custodians who don't usually contribute for that stuff. Paraprofessionals/teaching assistants typically contribute, so on average about 50 people, or $250 total

Re: Staff collections- what do you collect?
Typically the person collecting, asks for donations of whatever you can give. This typically ranges from $2-20 depending on the event.

My custodian does not keep my room clean at all. They barely sweep and never wash the board. They also frequently forget to take out the trash in my room. I think I do more cleaning than they do.

Re: Staff collections- what do you collect?
We collect 20 dollars for everyone (custodians, secretarys, building aides, tech aides, security) during holidays. Things are not cleaned (unless specifically asked) But if I need something done, it is done right away!

I hate to say it but that stinks! I don't understand it! I have friends telling me custodians will move things if you move your room and I laugh!

My custodians are amazing. They really do anything I ask. We collect $5 for the one who cleans our area.
