Stallone offers medical evidence in growth hormone smuggling case
Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone has provided medical documents to Australia's customs after being charged with importing 48 vials of banned human growth hormone, his lawyer told a Sydney court.
Stallone, who has not yet entered a plea, was not in the Sydney court for the brief hearing. His case was adjourned until May 15 to allow customs to examine Stallone's medical material, which was not revealed in court.
Sylvester Stallone has offered undisclosed medical evidence to fight the charge of smuggling a banned growth hormone in Australia. The actor is currently filming Rambo 4
Stallone's lawyer, John Chicken, said the matter should be finalised soon. "We're certainly seeking to move to a resolution," he told the court.
The Australian Customs Service has charged Stallone with one count of importing a prohibited import when he was detained at Sydney airport on February 16.
Customs said the 48 vials of prohibited human growth hormone were found in his luggage. The maximum fine for the offence is A$110,000 (£45,000).
Stallone left Australia on February 19, after a three-day visit to promote his new film, Rocky Balboa, bound for Thailand to shoot his latest Rambo movie.
