STAR proof of primary residence docs
We're filing as new homeowners. My husband has a license with the new address on it, I do not. What other forms of documentation can be used to show primary residence? Can I send a copy of the mortgage statement?

STAR proof of primary residence docs
I didn't use any of that, I just sent a copy of the deed in with the paperwork... i think that's all I needed to send in. Neither of us had changed our driver's licenses yet at the time.

It asks for proof of residence to be attached to the application...From what I'm reading it seems like you need that plus the deed..but maybe I'm reading the instrutions wrong

this is so confusing! i asked albany if i need to send in a copy of the deed at closing and they said i don't need anything but that RP-425 application. (i think thats the form name)

STAR proof of primary residence docs
I just looked at the STAR application.....
Attach a copy of proof of primary residence (i.e. Car Registration; Voter Registration Card; 2012 NYS Income Tax Return; Driver’s License; Non-Driver’s Identification Card.)
Proof of residency must show the CURRENT address as listed above!

You need proof of residence when filing for the first time. You can use drivers license, registration, utility bill, etc.

I def didn't have our drivers licenses at the time... Maybe it changed in the last year.

We are also new homeowners this year and we both needed to update our licenses in order to file. TOH.
