Starting a new journey......
HI! I am finally leaving the IF boards and making my way over here. I've been doing a ton of research already.....attending a seminar next week. If possible can anyone share their domestic infant adoption experience? Thanks! J

Re: Starting a new journey......
We adopted our son from Missouri 2 years ago. The whole process from home study to his birth took two years. We used an agency for our adoption. The most difficult part of the process, for me, was the waiting---waiting to be chosen by the birth parents. We were lucky and have a good relationship with the birth parents. We were given a ton of health information on the family. We have a semi-open adoption in which we send pics and updates 2x/year.
Our son brings us so much love and happiness. I cannot imagine my life without him in it. Adoption was an easy decision for us--we struggled with infertility. It was also the best decision we ever made.
Good luck with your journey!!

Starting a new journey......
She lives in MA. My cousin was born in Fl. That was also like 18 years ago so I'm sure a lot has changed. I can ask her anything you'd like though. I know it was a journey for them as well. Failed ivfs. The whole deal.

Re: Starting a new journey......
We live in CT. We used American Adoptions for the adoption and Wide Horizons for the home study. I'm not sure if American Adoptions works in NY but they were very easy to work with, gave us alot of help with our profiles. Although it took two years, it was a very easy process working with them.
