Starting a Registry online vs In store?
Is there a difference to doing so? Do they give you things when you start in store? If you start it online can you still get whatever they would give you initially after? Mostly for Babies R Us

i started in store because i know zero about babies and wanted a personal shopper to help us. it made a world of difference. she spent 3+ hours with us, informing us of every thing we need to get. definitely recommend going this route, if not at first, at some point during your pregnancy.
we did it at BBB in the city.

i heard that if you start in store they give you somthing, like a goodie bag. As soon as we find out what we are having, i plan on jumping on this!

i started online and finished in the store ... i still got my goody bag. This was at BBB.
i actually am really happy i did it this way - i got to see amazon reviews before adding things to my registry, and i got to play with the things in person after adding them to make sure i really liked 'em

i plan on doing it in store...you get the goody bag and also helpful staff if you have any questions. im going to do the registry and then double check reviews etc (and show it to a close friend who has a 1 year old) and get their opinion before i make the registry known to friends & family

Starting a Registry online vs In store?
I have an idea of what I already want for the bigger items...and checked reviews and window shopped already. I know the stroller is hard to find in store sometimes so will need to add it online. Smaller items like blankets and bottles I have no idea about. Just seeing what will be easier to do.

i started in store because i wanted to physically see the things i was registering for & in the case of car seats and strollers i wanted to feel and look at the quality. after that i went online & tweaked it.. adding & removing things. Plus sometimes when you add things online they are not always available at the local stores so i wanted to make sure the bulk of the stuff i wanted my family could actually pick up and buy at the local BBB or BRU

I started online then went in store. There are things available in store but not online. I got the gift bag when we went to the store anyway.

Ditto - still got a goodie bag even though I started online. Though with DD1, I went to the store so I could see and play with everything. With #2, I knew what I needed and dealt with most of it online.

I started my BBB registry online and later went into the store to add the bulk of the items.
When I went to the store I told them I had already started it online but this was my first time registering in person. They showed me how to work the scan gun and gave me my goodie bag.
Honestly, the bag is nothing to worry about if you don't get one. It was mostly coupons I'll never use, a lotion sample and a pacifier.
