Starting AF early...
So it looks like a BFN this month. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions and posts during my 2WW.
I wasn't due for AF until Thursday....since I got it less than 2 weeks after ovulation could that be a sign that something is wrong? Any feedback is appreciated. I have a Dr.'s appt. the first week of May.
Congratulations to everyone of this board getting good news!!! and wishing everyone else good news ASAP!!!

Re: Starting AF early...
Were you charting ? How long was your luteal phase ? If it was about 12 days or less you could have luteal phase defect, which is where you may not be supplying enough progesterone. This can be corrected by taking clomid or using progesterone suppositories.

Re: Starting AF early...
I haven't been taking my Temp (is that what you mean?), but I have been keeping a chart and it does look like I have approx. a 26day cycle.
I am wondering if this could be an issue for me and why I have not been able to conceive. I will be sure to ask the Dr. about this. But, are OB/GYN's knowledgeable on this??

Re: Starting AF early...
Your ob/gyn should be knowledgeable but if you aren't temping, you may be ovulating, earlier than you think. If your cycle is 26 days, you could easily be ovulating cd 12 and have a 14 day luteal phase. It's also very common to not ovulate on the same day every cycle, so although you may think AF is early or late...it may not be. I highly recommend, temping...Without this information it's hard to determine what's going on. Your ob/gyn can do an endometrial biopsy to see if you are producing enough progesterone or a 7 dpo progesterone blood test to confirm ovulation.

Re: Starting AF early...
ok, i will write all this down to bring with me to my appt. I haven't been temping, but i have been using the CBEFM so i have a pretty good idea when I am ovulating. This cycle I had my 2 peak days on cd 15 & 16. what do you think?

Re: Starting AF early...
The monitor is usually a great indicator of ovulation and most people tend to ovulate on the second peak day. So if you feel you ovulated on cd 16 and your cycle was 26 days. Then your luteal phase was only 10 days and I would definitely inquire with my ob/gyn about testing my progesterone next cycle at 7 dpo or doing an endometrial biopsy (which is a bit more invasive)

Re: Starting AF early...
Thank you. I appreciate all the information. I will be asking my doctor about this. i am a little worried, but how big of a deal is it if this is my issue - and hopefully, my ONLY issue? Thank you again.
I must say to you and everyone else reading this - I really would have lost it a while ago without this board.
