Starting an annual birthday tradition on DS's 1st Birthday...
I'm so not the creative type but I'd like to start a tradition for DS. He's turning 1 on 3/16!
I want to definitely get some kind of height tracking thing. I've also heard of taking a picture of him in adult sized clothes and then doing it every year as he grows into them...
Any other ideas?

I wrote a letter to our dd on her first birthday - she is now 3 and I have continued that tradition. I hope to be able to give her 18 letters on her 18th birthday.

I started the letter collection as well.
(I also started ornaments at Christmas too. I picked out a few special ones and wrote a letter as to why, so when she moves out, she has special ornaments of her own and can remember why Mommy chose them for her)

A simple one DH has.... his mom got birthday cake candle holders, like the cheapy plastic clown kind. His are cowboys and he's had them on his cake every year... 44! His sister has balerinas.
BIL had a personalized banner that got hung every year.
And I've seen where you video DS waking up and you saying Happy 1st Birthday... very short, just a few seconds of video and after the years, the tape fills up of him waking up on his birthday every year!

DH and I make a yearly scrapbook/photo album using Shutterfly to show her all the accomplishments and memories since her last bday.
At her parties, we have our friends and family sign them with messages like a year book.
We hope they will be treasured keepsakes for many many years!
