Starting Gonal-F tonight! Any tips?
Any tips for my first night of injections?
Do you do them cold - like right out of the fridge?
We are using the Gonal-F pens.
Did you have any side effects from it?

I usually take it out 10-15 mins before I'm going to use it. Also I apply an ice pack to my abdomen 3-4 mins before I'm going to do the shot. Then use a rubbing alcohol prep pad, and I use a gauze pad to dry the area (rather than let it air dry), then pinch the skin where I'm going to do it, insert the needle, release the skin, and once you're done - wait a few seconds before taking the needle out to ensure that all the medication is out- then I put a gauze pad on it for a few mins. It's a piece of cake once you get done w/ the first one. GL!!!

Oh my, I'm reading Shannon's post thinking "wow, I remember when I used to do all that stuff!"
I just walk over to the fridge, open it up, throw on the needle, give myself the jab, and put it back in the fridge. I don't prepare at all.
The other day I was paying SUCH little attention that when I was putting the little cap back on top of the needles before throwing it away I poked right through the cap and jabbed my finger REALLY hard with the needle. Now that's complacency

You were right - it was so simple!
DH did the injection. We left it out for 15 minutes before, then just primed it (since it was our first time using the Gonal-F pen), pinched, and injected!
It didn't hurt one bit!

I haven't done gonal f in forever, but I still do the motions whatever meds I'm on (injection wise  ).
My FIL had to get a shot last week and he got a MAJOR infection on his entire upper arm- it was red and puffy and they don't know why it happened- but they think it may be b/c the nurse didn't prep the area correctly!  
So be careful w/ those shots please- I don't want any infections happening to anyone that could be prevented!  It finally started getting better but it took 3-4 days of him monitoring it and- they said if it got any worse he'd have to go to the ER and they drew a line around where it was to monitor it.
