starting solids - best green veggies
My DD just started rice cereal last week. The ped said we could start veggies and fruits after a week or two of cereal. They suggested starting with green veggies, then orange/yellow, and then fruits - just so DD doesn't get used to the sweeter stuff and then not want the green veggies.
I will be making my own food and just wondered what were the best green veggies to start with? greenbeans? peas? any suggestions?
Thanks!

Not sure what works best as I was not successful in making my own food, but I can tell you I tried green beans and could not get it to the right consistency. DS threw it up on me. No matter how much I pureed it, it came out too stringy.

I made all of Ann's food for a while but I never mastered green beans either!!
Spinach is easy and if it's too watery, add some cereal.

Ok, I definitely won't be starting with green beans!

Re: starting solids - best green veggies
My DS won't eat any green veggies by themselves. If I mix them heavily with the veggies he does like, it helps a little. For example, I'll take half a container of peas or green beans and mix it with half a container of carrots or squash or sweet potatoes. He is more likely to eat it that way, but still sometimes will gag on it. He just isn't a fan of the greens. He takes after his dad.

Peas - best baby food ever spinach, made DS poop instantly but no gas green beans - gas broccoli - gas asparagus, brussels sprouts, green Cabbage - gas gas gas
I do small amounts now if I do them, and mix them with peas
puree and strain it, to get the fiber out

Thanks for all the suggestions! I am going to start experimenting with them this weekend.
