Starting Table Foods - A Few Questions
OK - so I am starting table foods with DS this weekend Couple of questions I forgot to ask the ped the other day:
If you are on a set meal "schedule" - fruit for breakfast, veg/meat for lunch, etc - did you stick to that with the table foods - for example, if you only give meat one time a day - is that when you gave the table food version?
Also, did you introduce all at once - table food fruit tomorrow am, table food meat and veg at lunch, etc. or did you introduce separately and slowly - only fruit tomorrow am but still jarred food rest of the day, introduce table food lunch another day...
Thanks so much!

Re: Starting Table Foods - A Few Questions
I've just been winging it
But basically, I started to give him "grain", meat, and dairy table foods - but not all at once. I think I started by giving him either a pancake or waffle with a jar of fruit in the morning.
Then we moved onto to lunch and I started giving him yogurt or grilled cheese for lunch with a jar of veggies.
For dinner, I never gave him jarred meat so I give him table food meat - often with pasta, or ravioli, meatball, etc. If possible, I give him what we are having.
I'm working on getting him off the jars of fruit and veggies. I've been slow with that because the jars are just more convenient
I just keep adding foods that I think he will like. For example, he recently had spinach potato pancake for lunch one day and hummus on bread for lunch today.

Re: Starting Table Foods - A Few Questions
Umm, was I supposed to clear table foods with the GI?
For dinner, I shred chicken and feed it to her. I also give her cut up pasta.
I am going to make her a pancake with rice milk tomorrow.
I figured as long as I stay within the milk allergy diet parameters it was okay.
I would start by making him a pancake tomorrow!

Not to takeover this thread - but I'm assuming you're making the pancakes with eggs? Or are you jsut using the egg yolk? no eggs?
