Re: state grants
I asked the financial people @ the doctors office and they emailed the application to me.

Re: state grants
so if your RE is one of the 14 who participate in the grant program is there still an application process? how long does that typically take if there is one?

Re: state grants
If your RE is part of the grant, there will be an application required (probably a requirement of NYS). You also have to submit a copy your current tax return, copies of identification (for you and DH) as well as a letter from your ins co. stating that IVF benefits are not provided.
Amount of time for a response depends on the clinic, but if all documentation submitted checks out, it can take under two weeks...again, this depends on the clinic and/or the clinic's grant coordinator, and how busy the clinic is.
FYI - you are only allowed two tries with the grant.
Good luck!

Re: state grants
I am a patient at Cornell and applied for the grant in June...
Luckily for us, we got accepted....
The state gives out the grants on quarterly basis starting from 2005.....
Unfortunately the funding is very limited now and as of right now NYS has no more money for the quarter ending September 30 (Jun-Sep) as of 7/15.......we will find out the end of July if the state will fund the grant more...
I am praying they do have/get more money since one IVF cycle at Cornell is $15,000....
Once you do get the grant it doens't mean you are covered 100%....you will pay around 20-40% (depending on your income & insurance coverage) out of pocket and you will get 2 IVF cycles per lifetime
