I guess no more then $150 for the two of us, Appetizer, dinner and desert. Any kind of place, no preference.

Where is restaurant row? Not sure about French food, but Italian is always good. No specific type of food, I just wanted a really good restaurant, and I usually eat at the same places when I go in to the city.

I am guessing Carmines is Italian. How are the prices, is the restaurant near the hotel? The hotel is the Manhattan Club.

If you're looking to stay on the West side, Victor's Cafe on 52nd between 8th and Broadway is GREAT Cuban food, Cara Mia on 9th Ave between 44th and 45th is fabulous Italian (very fresh and not at all expensive)
Skip Carmine's - it's a complete tourist trap and IMO the food is nothing to brag about - it's also family style, and pretty expensive.

CarminesNYC.com We love it!!! Good luck w/ reservations, unless you're willing to eat at 4 pm.
ETA: It's family-style, not exactly ideal for 2 ppl (we always go in a group). I agree w/ the pp that it's a "tourist trap".

I love Carmines, but for two people it is not worth it imo, do it with a large group and its good though....the titanic for dessert is YUMMY

Cara Mia is on Restaraunt Row - It's on 9th Ave between ....I'd say probably 42nd and 50th streets ?? You can walk down (or up) 9th Ave and/or up and down the streets between 8th and 9th ....there are a ton of places .....
Just be aware of the time - there are a lot of Pre Theater patrons and sometimes it's impossible to get in - especialy in December - I'd suggest eating after the play -
