St.Charles Hosp Labor Question-BTDT

Im planning to go drug free and stay home as long as possible...but when I get to the hospital will they let me walk around?? I do not like the idea of being tied down...

Do they have birthing balls??

If you delivered there naturally can you share your experience with me??

TIA

They allowed me to walk around since I had back pain. You will be hooked up to an IV, so you may be restricted as to where you can walk, but the rooms are large enough to get walking done. Just let the nurse know what you want to do and they will work with you. The staff on the L&D side were magnificent!

As for birthing balls - I never saw them while I was there.

You speak with your doctor and tell him of your plan and then write up a birth plan to give the staff when you arrive.

No real need to be hooked up to an IV the moment you walk in the door.

Thanks! There are several Drs, so I dont know who will be there when Im there...but I will let them know of my plans when I arrive...I'd rather just get the plug for the IV, but not the actual IV unless I need it...hoping they will work with me...
