Steam vs Iron

Does anyone steam their clothes and find that it comes out just as good as ironing?

I only have a cheapie portable tiny steamer so it is only good for touchups but I REALLY stink at ironing, really. I make everything look worse than when I started. DH secretly takes shirts that I ironed to the drycleaner anyway ( I caught him LOL).

Re: Steam vs Iron

I used to iron my stuff but now I have a small steamer and I usually just use that to get out the big wrinkles..

if I had somewhere fancy to go.. I would probably iron my clothes.. sometimes the steamer makes them a little wet

Re: Steam vs Iron

I love the steamer. I steam ALL of my clothes plus my curtains. The only things I iron are tablecloths, table placemats. Sheets, I usually just throw them on the bed wrinkled after they've been washed.

i use both. the stemer seems to work good on things that don't need heavy ironing. I also love starcth and can't use that with the steamer so I switch between them.

It also depends on how much time i have the stemer is much quicker in the am if i'm in a rush to get to work

steamer!

I will never iron again...even with a good ironing I would still have creases from the ironing...the steamer works like a charm! just invest in a good one..I have the joy mangano one from HSN.

Re: Steam vs Iron

I love using the steamer for things that aren't as easily ironed... like button down shirts, silk tops, linen....
