Still looking for a pediatrician!
so frustrated.... DH visited a practice a few weeks ago, met and interviewed the doc. Although she was courteous and nice, I did not get "the feeling" from her. I asked her about BF, and got the feeling that she isn't too fond of mom's that doesn't BF (although I've decided to BF)..
anyhoo, so I called Seaford ped, since I've heard good things about them, and was put on hold for 5 mins, I just hung up.
Can someone please recommend a ped in Nassau that's affiliated with Winthrop?

i would honestly give seaford pediatrics a second chance - i have had an amazing experience with them since i had DS in september. my guess is that they are super busy with lots of kids getting sick
they won't do a pediatric interview but you can talk to the office manager who will tell you everything you want to know.
sorry i don't have any other recommendations

Nassau Pediatrics in Franklin Square - they are amazing. our favorite is Dr. Camillery but you dont have a choice who you meet for the consult visit. but i highly recommend them.

Re: Still looking for a pediatrician!
I see Dr. Nayor for both of my boys. She is at Pediatric Assoc. of Plainview. I actually switched when we moved to Suffolk and switched back after a month because she is so good so now I drive 45 min. to an hour just to get to her but it's worth it! Her number is 516-822-1400. Good luck!

I also think you should give Seaford Ped a second chance. They have been wonderful to a my DS and me. I am a new mom and they have answered all my questions. They are busy but my suggestion, try again. Hope it works out for you.

Re: Still looking for a pediatrician!
I have 3 appts in the upcoming weeks, hopefully one of the will work out. It's getting really close and I hate not having things done waaay in advance (it's the virgo in me). Will definately give Seaford Ped another try. I am just really concerned that they might be too busy, I get that now with my OB's office and I do not want that for DD.
Thanks ladies

Re: Still looking for a pediatrician!
SO GLAD I checked out Seaford Ped!!! I didn't get a chance to meet the doctors or the office manager, but the staff was more than helpful, and very attentive! They were eager to answer my questions, and I was happy with how the office was running. I am also very happy that the the docs are all very willing to work with the parents on their concerns.
After checking out 5 peds, I was getting really tired and discouraged. I liked one doc, but he isn't flexible on the vaccination issues, and I did not want to settle on that.
YAY, one item checked off my list!
