Still no birth cert and baby is almost a month old-insurance problem?
I submitted all the hospital papers and was told it was 'in the system' but with ds, I had everything before he was a month.

My son's took over a month to come also.
When it finally came and we were able to get him on the insurance, we just asked the pediatricians office to resubmit the bills that were previously denied.

E's stuff took much longer than J's stuff to come.
I had to call the records office at NSUH to find out what happened. I believe it came 2 weeks after I called. Our insurance company told us they would retroactive any claims that were submitted once the 30 day grace period was up. We actually didn't have anything in between but it was good to know.
Did you call the insurance company and see what else can be done to try and extend coverage while you track the paperwork down?

Ins co should only need discharge papers. I'm in Islip and I got DDs birth cert 6 days after submitting the papers at hospital.

I think 4-6 weeks is typical, especially at busy times of the year. And summer is busy. DD was born 7 weeks ago and we got hers quickly, but I wouldn't be concerned if it hasn't even been a month.

You can call the town and check. I had to pick my son's up because it was taking so long. The dr was on vacation so it wasn't signed.

See if they will take a letter for now from the hospital saying that your lo was born there. This is what I submitted with my insurance application. I know for my DS it took forever for the birth certificate to come and I had to call the town registrar to push them to send it to me... They said they were back logged due to the amount of births. I will probably have to do the same for dd.

My twin boys took along time. For us, it turns out paperwork sitting on OB desk & she forgot to sign.

Dd's birth certificate took forever bc she was born around the holidays. My insurance temporarily accepted a verification letter of treatment from the hospital til we received the bc

It CAME!!!! Yay!!!!
Now, another question. We gave her 2 middle names. On the bc, it says "Jane Anne Sarah Smith" but on her ss card it says "jane anne smith"
Is that a problem?
