Still not feeling good...

so now it's back to the dr tomorrow am. I called my dr this afternoon to find out if this is common and my dr called me back concerned. He said b/c I was on injections and have PCOS that I'm most likely hyperstimulating and is worried that it will get worse. Chat Icon Chat Icon
So now my scan will be tomorrow morning instead of friday morning (or possibly in addition to depending on how the week goes). I was hoping that I'd start feeling a little better- but I've pretty much felt the same since last week.
I haven't been weighing myself but he asked me if my pants are getting tighter and they definitely are. I have been wearing them unbuttoned and unzipped. Chat Icon

Re: Still not feeling good...

Sorry to hear that...make sure you keep hydrated, drink lots of Gatorade and water. Hope you feel better soon!

How many follies did you wind up with again?

Re: Still not feeling good...

50/50 Gatorade/water mix is best.
You should be okay in a couple days.

Thanks Carolyn! I'm still trying to take it easy- it's just hard- I'm actually running behind on my orders that have to be shipped in time for Christmas b/c I haven't felt up to painting...

Want to hear the strange part? I HAVE NO IDEA! I THINK it was 2 but it could've been 3- though my estrodial was over 1400 and I never got to ask my dr. The rest of my follicles were smaller but they never told me the day of my IUI how many went.

Thanks Gerty. Chat Icon I just sent DH out to the store to buy some gatorade. Hopefully the quicker I get it into my system, the quicker I'll start to feel better.
I have my sonogram at 7:40 at my drs office tomorrow morning, so hopefully he can compare the size of the follicles from the day of the IUI (though I don't know if he actually did one b/c I wasn't paying attention- I was laying down staring at DH) and the current size of them. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Still not feeling good...

I was on injectibles and had two IUIs this cycle - Friday & Saturday mornings. I'm still crampy and bloated - I e-mailed my doctor and he said it was normal but to let him know if it didn't get better soon.

My question is how could you be hyperstimulating if you already ovulated and had your IUI?

ETA : I don't have PCOS.

My ovaries started feeling full while i was still on the gonal f but not as bad as they felt after the ovidrel. The dr mentioned that patients w/ PCOS have a higher risk while using injections. He monitored me extremely closely and started me out on a low dose so this wouldn't happen- but he said there's still always a chance that it could. I think Carolyn or Gerty might be able to explain this better than me as this is my first month on them.

Re: Still not feeling good...

Well, technically you wouldn't still be hyperstimulating...its the after effects (post-ovulation in a hyperstimmed cycle). When you got the trigger and O'd (and stopped the injections) your estrogen level went down and your follies are not continuing to grow. The discomfort is from having multiple, now empty follies which fill up with fluid, causing massive bloating and some other fun effects. It will take a few days for the fluid to be absorbed back into your system and then the discomfort will go away.

thanks- I understand now. The dr said something about seeing hyperstimulation 3-4 days after the insemination which is now- but i told him i've been feeling bloated and full since the night i took the ovidrel.
