Still not liking being on her belly. Help!!!
I dont know why, but Paige still doesnt like to be on her belly. I dont know what to do. This kid will never learn how to crawl. She still doesnt roll. She has only done it a handful of times. I hate feeling like she is so behind. It worries me. Even if the doctor tells me not to worry, i still worry.
She also doesnt like when i try to make her sit. She gets fussy and whines and she always pushes her feet, which makes her flop backward.
She will sit in the bumbo and on my lap and she does will with me helping.
Did anyone else DC do this? Do you think i should be worried.

Re: Still not liking being on her belly. Help!!!
I wouldn't worry. My mom told me that I never rolled from belly to back until I was 10 months old and walking I never crawled, I never liked to sit up, etc. and I think I'm doing just fine

Don't worry...it will come with time.
My DD HATED belly time and still hates being on her belly. She didn't do much rolling before 7.5 months and she just started crawling at 9.5 months I just had to remember that every baby will do everything in their own time.

Her neck control is good. I can sit her up and she tries to lean forward to reach for thing. And when i pull her into a sitting position her head doesn lag behind.

Don't worry. Every baby is different. DS hated tummy time and when he learned how to roll from back to belly he would cry for me to roll him back. He started to crawl really good at 10 months. My nephew is 14 months old and he still crawls. He will stand up on his own but does not want anything to do with walking.

she's only 5 months old...if she has rolled a few times chances are she will do it again soon... Most babies don't sit up on their own before 6 months anyway...

Have you tried getting on the floor her & laying next to her?
Every baby does develop at the their own pace but belly time is an important part of developing her muscles.

Re: Still not liking being on her belly. Help!!!
I asked the dr. about this last week...my exact words were: "when do normal babies roll over?" she laughed and looked at me like I was nuts asking this at 6 weeks.
I told her I had freaks of nature for children and that they both were rolling at 3-4 weeks, but knew that wasn't typical.
She said "No earlier than 3 months usually and some never do it."
So maybe Paige just won't be doing it. My daughter barely crawled before she walked b/c she figured out it was soooo easy to roll across the room and roll back.
As for not liking "tummy time" don't worry...just do it anyway but for short periods of time. They need to fuss and cry a little anyway to wind down some and just let it out. My son hates being on his back, but I still put him to bed that way.

Re: Still not liking being on her belly. Help!!!
Ds is only 3.5 months, but I've been asking about this because as soon as he's placed on his belly, he screams like he's being tortured. The pediatrician said some kids just hate it and it's OK, as long as he's getting time off the back of his head by sitting or being on our shoulder. Some kids skip the rolling crawling stages and go right to the standing/walking and then go backward. That's OK. I also asked the lady at daycare. She said that a lot of kids that have come through HATE tummy time, but they all turned out OK in the end and eventually hit their milestones, sometimes just in a different order or time table.
