Still swaddled at 5 months...
Is this bad? I am afraid if I don't swaddle her at night she won't sleep thru the night.
Is this preventing her from learning to roll over?

Re: Still swaddled at 5 months...
I say who cares as long as she sleeps! I wish, Gianni (since he's so long) hasn't been swaddled since at the hospital and he use to break free all the time.
If she's getting enough playtime during the day, I doubt swaddling at night is going to make or break rolling over.

Re: Still swaddled at 5 months...
I still swaddle Logan and he's 5 1/2 months. I agree, I don't think he would sleep through the night if he wasn't swaddled (we only swaddle him at night). I was nervous about him rolling over too but the Dr said it's ok. I've been keeping him on the floor (on his mat) a lot during the day and encouraging him to roll over. He's been randomly rolling from belly to back for a while but over the past 3 days he's been rolling back and forth consistantly .

Michael was almost 5 months old and still swaddled (at night only) - it didn't keep him from turning over or anything like that - eventually I think they become strong enough to kick out of it... Michael's arms were never swaddled in...

Re: Still swaddled at 5 months...
I stopped swaddling at night at about 5 months or so because she would actually roll onto her belly WHILE swaddled!!! She ended up looking like a fish flopping around out of water. So I wouldn't worry about delaying her...so long as she gets lots of tummy time during the day.
