Stock Market negative for the year...
One thing the GOP keeps touting, is the DJIA, and 401(k)s....
Well, somehow the "great" market is negative for the year, as is my 401(k).
The market was doing great until his economic "policies" started getting enacted in January of this year...

When the market was up last year you had negative things to say as well. Since Trump took office my 401k has gone up more than it is down. GDP is high and for now inflation is steady with no signs of a downturn on the horizon. I am watching the Fed and have redistributed my 401k to match the market. I am not negative for the year at this point. Still up by almost 4%. Not the 23% growth I had last year but I will take it. Curious what your gains were over the 8 years Obama was in office. Mine were not what I am currently seeing. You have to manage your 401k like anything else. Do research, see what is performing and what isn't. The Feds aggressive rate increases this year spooks investors. That is not a new problem. The Fed laid out their plans to increase rates but people didn't pay attention. They will raise rates again in Dec and there will be another down-tick. If they don't raise the rates inflation gets too high and the economy overheats. With the higher interest rates people will start to see a better return on their savings which will help (although this is always a delay and not in lock step with rate increase). Increase in borrowing rates will help correct the over inflated housing market. More than just the stock market at play here. With gains like we saw last year, there had to be some correction. We will see what the new year brings as far as the market. I am prepared to move my investments to cash if need be. Just have to be prepared.
