stomach cramps
How am I supposed to tell if they are regular stomach cramps or something that I shouldn't be feeling (that is bad - like contractions). I've been feeling crampy since last night. I just had a BM (sorry TMI) and still feel a bit crampy - but not as bad as before. So its probably just run of the mill stomach ache, right? I am so paranoid, I know. I just don't want to be blowing off something I should be paying attention to, KWIM?

Re: stomach cramps
I feel your pain, literately. I've been feeling sharp pains in my lower abdomen for 2 days now, and honestly I am a bit worried. But I was told by my doc very early on that unless I am bleeding or seeing water like fluids coming out, I should be fine. I have my 17 week appt today, I think I am going to ask doc if she can do a sono just soe I have a peace of mind

I had asked my doctor at 15 weeks how I would knoe the difference between stomach cramps and bad cramps since I have IBS and can get pretty bad cramping from that, and he said I would just know. At 21.5 weeks, I still don't know Sharp pains sound like round ligaments to me - do you get them when you stand up or are walking?

Re: stomach cramps
I think it's pretty normal to have cramping, but it's hard not to worry. I still get cramping and pain on and off. I could be wrong, but I think your stomach would probably get hard if you were having a contraction (either real or Braxton Hicks). It wouldn't hurt to bring it up to your doctor just to give you peace of mind.

Re: stomach cramps
I have stomach issues myself, IBS among other things...
I am so used to having stomach pains- and a lot of what I feel is consistent with feelings I had before being prego.
I try not to worry about anything-- even though I can't help but wonder. I figure if something is very painful, and lasts for too long then I can get concerned. Otherwise, I am trying not to get stressed over every little thing.

Re: stomach cramps
My Dr asks me every time-so any contractions-I said how do I know the difference between contractions and cramping. He said persistence-HTH
