Stomach Virus - Normal to last almost a week but with infrequent symptoms?

Thomas threw up once last Friday and had two episodes of diarrhea. Threw up twice Saturday. Two episodes of diarrhea Sunday. Monday fine except for at night when I went to brush his teeth, a little clear vomit came up, like he might have gagged himself with toothbrush. Tuesday one loose BM bordering on diarrhea. Wednesday again one loose BM. Today I got a call from daycare that he was sitting down to have his snack and he took a drink and then vomited clear right back up.

Does this sound like a normal stomach virus? This is our first, so bear with me!
