Stonybrook Hospital Help
Can anyone reccomend a midwife that is affiliated with this hospital. Or a OB practice that is.

Gustavo San Roman & Dana Brenner have a practice with two midwives (don't know their names) in Pt Jeff. They deliver out of Stony Brook & St. Charles.

I used University Associates and they have a midwife practice within the group. They are the attendings on the maternity ward at SBH.

Are you sure the midwives deliver at SB? I used Stony Brook Midwives (which were GREAT btw!) and I thought they said that they are the only ones allowed to deliver at SB. I could be wrong though.
ETA: OP I would highly recommend going to the "Meet the Midwives" tour. They typically offer it on Thursdays once a month at the hospital. They explain a bit about themselves and then they take you on a tour of labor and delivery and the nursery.

I have not completely made the rounds yet. I've met 3.
As for the original question, I am not positive but I think that Stony Brook midwives is the name that 3 Village Womens' Health will give if you ask for a midwife.

Thank you all so much. They are on my insurance also. One of my sisters used San roman and loved them. my two other sisters loved Davenport. I currently go to Suffolk OBGYN. The practice is large though. Cant decide on which hospital is best. I had one child at Stonybrook and one at home with two midwifes. Dont want to do that now since I will be 39

I use this practice and love them. Michelle Mayer is a midwife there and she is just the sweetest and most knowledgable person I have ever met. She is so calming and helpful and EXCITED at every step. Yesterday I found out that I might actually ovulate this month and she was literally almost jumping up and down!!!!
I picked up a pamphlet they had in the waiting room about their office and they deliver at both SB and st charles.

I used the Stony Brook Midwives and they were fabulous. Careen delivered DS and she did a wonderful job. I can't recommend them enough!

That's who delivered DD along with Vandy, the student midwife. They were wonderful!!
